THE WEATHER.
A DULL DAY. Dull, overcast conditions prevailedJn Ashburton this morning, but the sky cleared somewhat at midday and the sun shone at intervals throughout the afternoon. The temperature was mild and conditions for out-door sports, were pleasant. The barometric pressure at 9 a.m. today was 29.57 inches, compared with 29.55 inches recorded yesterday. The thermometer readings for the 24 hours ended at a.m. are the highest for a fortnight. They were 70.4 degrees maximum and 52.4 degrees minimum. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was issued to-day: — \l Indications are for: Southerly winds. The weather will probably be cool and changeable with scattered showers, later gradually improving. The barometer is rising slowly.
