FLEMINGTON RACES. DERBY ACCEPTORS. (United Press Association— Copyright.) MELBOURNE, October 27. The Victoria Racing Club's meeting will be commenced on Saturday. The following are the final acceptors for the Victoria Derby, of 4000 sovs; for three-year-olds; one mile and a half— Oratory, Eastern Chief, Top Hole, Rauch, Liberal, Streperus, The Dawn Patrol, Silverton, Kuyera, Oro, Turbine, Gaine Carrington. Limarch and Prestige are acceptors for the Maribynong Plate.
Havering and Manavvlienua are acceptors for the Hotham Handicap. Splutter is an acceptor for the Wakeful Stakes. Starting barrier positions in the Melbourne Cup are :-The Dawn Patrol on the rails, Gaine Carrington 6, Manawhenua 17, Compris 9, Peter Jackson 23, Admiral Drake 26.
BANKS PENINSULA Rm-ES POSTPONED. CHRISTCHURCH, October 37. The Banks Peninsula Racing Clubs meeting, which was to have been held at Motukarara on Saturday, lias been postponed owing to the condition ol the course, which, in spite of hne weather to-day, is so wet that the stewards consider it cannot bo fit tor racing on Saturday.
