THE DOMINION EXECUTIVE. COUNTY VALUATION AND RATING (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, Tins Day. The Dominion Executive of the Farmers’ Union carried remits that, the Prime Minister and Minister of Native Affairs be approached and urged to provide that all tenants on native leasehold properties be treated in a manner similar to lessees on European lands; that an emphatic protest be made to the Native Trustee against the excessive costs of the renewal of leases recently issued in respect to lands on native reserves. It was also resolved that the Government be asked to reinstate the rebate of 12 i per cent, on county rates; that the principle of voting which applies to county councils apply also to power board elections; that in regard xo reducing land valuations the Government be asked to pass legislation permitting a percentage reduction on the last valuation of a county.
