MINIATURE RIFLES.
SOUTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIP. The South Island miniature rifle championship meeting was held at Timaru on Saturday, 150 riflemen taking part. In the individual match M. Johnston (Gleniti), W! Duncan and W. Bradshaw (Timaru) and R. Meredith (Hilton) tied with a possible (80). W. Dell (Lynnford), with 17 others, made 79. W. Duncan won the South Island championship with two possibles. Twenty-three teams competed .in the championship team shoot, which was won by Hook, with a total of 390. Hunter came second with 389 and Lynnford was third with 3SB (N. Bauerle 80, W. Dell 78, C. Dell 77, J. Yeandlo 77, L. Dell 76). THE SEAFIELD CLUB. The Seafield Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot on Saturday night. A trophy presented by Mr J. McElhinliey, Ashburton, was won by T. Greer, W.* Johnson being runner-up. Following were the individual scores: J. Shelley 63, L. Scott 65, 65, 67, 66, M. Bluer 65, 60, W. Johnson 67, 66, 68, 67, 66; R. Martin 63, 11. J. Martin 70, 65, J. Martin 64; W. Sharpe 61, 58; T. Greer 67 , 66, 66, 67, 67; R. Baynes 69, 68, 69, 68 ; G. Moorhead 63 ; W. Dennison 4>o ; H. Bruce 61; 3. Watson 63; H. Watson 66, 66.
