SENTENCES AT NAPIER.

In the Supreme Court the Chief Justice (Sir Michael Myers) sentenced prisoners as follows: Edward Patrick Leahy and Albert Brown, breaking anil entering and theft, two years’ hard labour each; Peter Reilly, theft ot £BOO, four years’ hard labour; James Williamson, breaking and entering, 1months’ hard labour; Jeffares and Wiffin, two youths, breaking and entering and theft, four years’ Borstal detentionLichfold, another youth, breaking and entering and theft, four years’ probation; Raymond Claude Hogg, breaking ,and entering and theft, probation ‘ for three years; James Smart Sharp, theft, 12 months probation; Arapata. Karaitiana, attempted rape, seven years’ reformative detention. THE GREYMOUTH SESSIONS. GREYMOUTH, June 12. In the Supreme Court, Harry Edward Greenway, found guilty of assaulting Daniel Neenan, of Reef ton, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, including three months already spent in custody.

SENTENCES AT HAMILTON.

HAMILTON, June 12

The following prisoners were sentenced in the Supreme Court at Hamilton Archibald Westlake, aged 41. breaking, entering and theft at Motumaolio, two years’ hard labour Matthews Joseph Spellars, aged 25, theft of partnership moneys at Te Kuiti, 12 months’ hard labour; Donald McMillan, aged 19, breaking, entering and theft, three years’ Borstal detention. McMillan, who pleaded guilty to the offence in the Magistrate s Court yesterday, broke into a drapery establishment at Hamilton on May 31, stealing men’s clothing to the value oi £l6 4s Bd. A piece of wire was used to push a key out of the lock. The prisoner’s record disclosed previous offences of a similar nature.
