CUNNING YOUTH.
STOLE EIGHTEEN BICYCLES. SOLD THEM TO DEALERS. (Per Press Association). CH.RISTCHURCH. This Day. Before Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., William Baldook, nge'd 20, was convicted of the theft of 18 bicycles, and was sentenced to the Borstal Institute for two years. Sub-Inspector O'Hara said that accused w*as the son of a South Canterbury farmer. It was his system to steal bicycles from the streets and take thorn to dealers, where he sold them. Accused also used fictitious names. In Timaru accused stole six bicycles. Coming to Christchureb, he stole 12 more cycles, and for 11 of them he obtained £lO 15s from dealers. Accused evidently thought the whole matter out, said the Sub-inspector, and was very cunning.
