GOVERNMENT GRADING SCHEME. ' (Per Press Association). PALMERSTON NORTH, March 19. Official advice has been received in Feilding that the Minister of Agriculture has approved of the Govern ment grading of \pigs. The decision is of the utmost importance to the pig industry. The information was conveyed iti a letter from the Minister of Agriculture who wrote: ' ' ' u ■ “With .reference to the representations conveyed to me by a deputation on March 4, it will he recollected that the principle point at issue was" the' grading of pig carcases by Government officers. The.whole question has been the subject of very careful con- -• sideration and I now have pleasure in informing you that it has been decided to institute Government' grading of pigs in those establishments that were . desirous of such being done under a voluntary scheme with purchase of kook weights and grade, rather than wait until grading could be inaugurated simultaneously at all necessary points.' Tt lias been decided to make a start at each point as soon as the necessary. ' arrangements can be made.”
