A cloudburst at Alderham, in the Riverina district, flooded a large area to a depth of six feet. The neighbouring Bygoo and Miroon Creeks have been swollen for 20 njiles. Residents fear that 1 the Routlie.ni portion of the town will he washed away to-day, and they are taking refuge on the northern heights. No lives have been lost, hut the damage is extensive. Trains are at a standstill. Farmers are concerned for the safety of a railway shed that is filled with many thousands of sacks of wheat. If the water enters they will lose the fruits of a whole season’s work..
