WELLINGTON, March 18.- , The decorum of the House of Representatives was disturbed at the opening of the afternoon sitting by a, woman who attempted to address members from the front of the ladies’ gallery. 1 The orderlies were ■ so taken by surprise that she was able to. continue for many sentences before she was interrupted" and induced to sit down, because Air Speaker was commencing the opening prayer. Immediately this was completed she walked! again to the front and began another address in such low tones that its purport was not understood by members. , , v An officer of the House led hen quietly from y T tlie woman resisting his invitation only long enough to tear up a letter and throw the fragments on the floor of the House. ‘ It was ascertained that her name is Miss C. C. McAdams, Auckland, and that her nnxfetv was to bring before Parliament the grievances of workless girls. She handed to the police an article from a recent issue of the “Auckland Star,” headed: “Positions for Girls,” “The Workless Army,”/ and complained that members of iParliament had refused to listen to .her .re* presentations.
