FAST AEROPLANE.
SPEED OF, 380 MILES. AN HOUR. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, March. 17. Several Argentine airmen a remarkable display, near London by Mr G. S. Staniland, the well-known British pilot, in the new. Fairey Firefly machine, which is probably the fastest fighting aeroplane, in the world,;, Stani;land swooped almost to the ground at the speed of 380 miles an hour. Then, turning the' machine, he sharply climbed to 20,000 feet in 10 minutes. The Argentine aviator, - Oaptain Castex, also tested' the machine, , and although it was a- strange craft to him, he, too, looped and stunted with it after a few minutes only. The Firefly has a 500 li.p.. RollsRoyce engine. . .' -j •
