A message from Alburn states that as a sequel to the recent determination of farmers to resist the selling up of any of their number for default, about 200 illen massed at a farm where a sale was advertised to , take place. Horsemen went from farm to farm telling every man that he was required to attend the sale and assist, if > the occasion demanded, in preventing one of their number being a yictim. The ready response proved the indication that the farmers were”in earnest .to resist forced sales. 4 The auctioneer, howeyer, did not'put in an appearance, and the men dispersed after resolving to return if needed.
