STOCK FROM BRITAIN.
QUARANTINE ARRANGEMENTS. DUE PRECAUTIONS TAKEN. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON 1 , This Dav. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. C. W. Forbes) has issued a statement in regard to the arrangements at quarantine stations at Home for pedigree stock exported from Britain. He was assured by the highest veterinary opinion that the precautions are such as to make the position of the import animals into New Zealand absolutely safe, while we have in addition quarantine facilities in New Zealand. He, hadi satisfied himself from his own observation, and concludes that New Zealand can with safety open her ports and let in stock to improve our flocks. This refers to foot-and-mouth disease and pleuro-phenumonia.
