OBITUARY.
MR. J. R. RAW. (i'er Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 17. The death occurred in l.ewisham Hospital after a serious operation, r>( Mr .fames Robert Raw. aired -10. (general secretary of the National Council of the Licensed Victuallers' Association). He came to New Zealand 35 years ago and engaged in commerce at Auckland and Rotorua. At the latter place he was chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and prominent in other local activities. He went to Auckland in 1914 as secretary to the Provincial Council of the 'Licensed Victuallers' and about 14 years ago accepted his late position. He was interested in Freemasonry, was a. member of Rotary and n liberal supportjr of nhilanthropio and charitable organisations. He leaves a widow, two daughters, and a son who is completing his medical studies in England.
