THE WEATHER.
THREE DEGREES OF FROST. After a thunderstorm yesterday afternoon and early last evening, the weather in Ashburton turned cold and three degrees of frost jvore recorded. For the 24 hours to 9 a.m. to-day 21 points of rain were, registered. To-day in Ashburton was fine and warm, with blight sunshine. The barometric pressure at 9 a.m. to-day was 29.51 inches, compared with 29.70 inches yesterday. Extremes of temperature yesterday were 64 degrees and 38 degrees. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. The following official weather forecast was issued to-day : Indications are for southerly moderate to strong winds, freshening. The weather will probably be cool and changeable, with some showers. The barometer is rising.
