THE WEATHER.
A WET WEEK-END. From fine to wet, and back to fine, was the cycle of the elements over the week-end. Saturday was beautifully clear, with a maximum temperature of 66.5 degrees, but Sunday broke dull and cold, and rain commenced to fall at 9.30 o’clock. Six points of rain fell, the rain easing off in the afternoon. The highest temperature yesterday was 50. G degrees, and the lowest in the night was 34.5 degrees, there being 5.5 degrees of frost. The barometer was reading 29.98 inches at 9 o’clock this morning, against 29.82 inches yesterday morning.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST. The following forecast was issued todav:— Indications are for southerly i.o south-easterly winds, moderate to strong. Fxoect changeable and showery weather, with scattered - niainlv on the coast. The weather will probably become colder. Barometer unsteady.' Later barometer rising.
