AMERICAN CARS.
HIGHER TARIFF IN FRANCE. (United Press Association—Copyright.) PARIS, April 10. American motor car importers had an unpleasant surprise yesterday, when they found that the duties on imported cars had increased overnight by 25 per cent. It is stated that the Customs Board took this action to prevent the threatened rushing over of thousands of American cars, in order to avoid the new French Tariff Bill, which operates in a few weeks’ time.
