CLEARANCE OF SLUMS.
HOUSING BILL IN BRITAIN. (United Press Association—Copyright.) LONDON, April 7. In the House of Commons, Mr A. Greenwood (Minister for Health), when moving the second reading of the Government’s Housing Bill, said, that the Bill introduced a new method of clearing slum areas. It simplified the purchase of homes end enabled local authorities to develop a coherent housing polity. A crowded House applauded the maidteni speeches of Miss Megan Lloyd George and Mr Malcolm MacDonald. The debate was adjourned.
