CARTAGE OF GRAIN.

SMART WORK AT METHVEN. Some particularly smart work was accomplished at Methven yesterday, when a supply of empty grain trucks arrived by the various trains. Two transport companies, working with six motor-lorries, loaded 57 trucks of wheat during the day. The total number of sacks carted was 3655, and the record must be considered a creditable one, when it is considered^that in many cases the grain had to be carted eight miles to the railhead.
