OBSTETRICAL APPEAL.
Sir,—-—ln the “Guardian's” report of the County Council discussion on the appeal of the Ashburton branch of the New Zealand Olfstetrical Societ‘v‘. for a donation, Mr Lill is reported to have stated: “The idea. is to train about half a dozen nurses in.midwifery.”~ -I was surprised to- read his remarks, and I am sure that all who donated to the range, were surprised also. I under—stood that the Goyernment was subsidising the amount aimed. at, and that the obstetrical appeal had a wider scope and covered a more important cause than stated by Mr Lill. I am sure your readers would ap—preciate it- if‘xyou'would kindly state the position. ' _ A DONATOR.
