ASSAULTED A CONSTABLE.
(Special to the “Guardian.’ ) TIMARU, March 21. jln the Magistrate’s Court, Allan Mitchell Aicliison, charged with assaulting Constable R. Alexander, was admitted to three vears’ probation bv Mr C.’ It. Orr-Walker S.M.
Special conditions imposed were that the -accused should he of good behaviour, should keep and renew his prohibition order during the probation period, and also pay police expenses and £lO compensation to the constable at the rate of £1 weekly. The assault was a sequel to defendant being apprehended while in possession of a stolen overcoat
