ANTARCTIC WHALING.
FIVE MONTHS' CAPTURES. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Dav, 10.25 a.m.) HOBART, This Day. The Norwegian whaler Neilsen Alonzo and five chasers arrived from a fivemonths’ cruise, in the far South. A total of 715 whales were captured, yielding 55,000 barrels of oil, valued at £230,000. Only 37 fish were taken in six weeks’ stay in Ross Sea. The fleet returned to the outskirts of the ice pack, where .36 were caught on one day. Only two true sperm whales were taken during the cruise.
