Gandhi travelled only miles on his campaign yesterday, reaching the village of Asli, where he addressed a large meeting and rebuked the villagers for buying foreign clothing. He resumed his inarch this morning. , Ugly clashes between students incited "by agitators and the nolice occurred at Calcutta, and Bombay. At the latter a student was arrested for disorderly behavioyr. His comrades attacked the police escort, and several students were injured and sent to hospital. Earlier in the day students gathered outside the Corporation Buildings and jeered at and attempted to tear down the Union Jacks which were part or the decorations for a dinner by the corporation president to the Governor (Sir Frederick Sykes). The Nationalist members of the corporation boycotted the function. In Calcutta students left the schools and made a demonstration. Later they besieged the, tram depots and were dispersed by the police. Nationalist demonstrations were neld in several centres where resolutions were passed" pledging support to Gandhi.
