HIDEOUS MURDER.
GERMAN KILLS MISTRESS. CRIME WITNESSED BY SON. 'United Press Association—Copyright.) PARIS, March 12. A hideous crime was unearthed at Saint Avald, near Metz. as the result of a 10-year-old son's statement. He said that he saw his father, a German miner named Schenk, murder his mistress with a spade, and in his presence dismember the body, burying the head at the front door. He cast the weighted limbs into a pond, and buried the trunk beneath the bedroom floor. He then went to Germany, from where he wrote to his victim's sister, saying that his mistress was ill and was not returning to St. David. The son told the story of the murder to the police, who recovered portions of the body. Schenk was arrested.
