BIG LAWSUIT.
LOSS OF CANADIAN STEAMER. i ( (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Dav, 1.5 p.m.) VANCOUVER, March 7. The sinking of the steamer Chief Maquilla off the Aleutians, en route to the Orient, six months ago, culminated to-day in a suit for £58,800 by the Insurance Companyf of America against the Canadian-African Shipping Company and Canadian Navigation Company. The vessel carried cargo worth £IOO,OOO. Plaintiffs allege that the vessel was unseaworthy with the cargo improperly loaded. Ten other suits on the same grounds aggregate £IOO,OOO.
