FILM OF GALLIPOLI.
OBJECTION BY TURKEY. LOMDON, February 10. Because all Turkish authorities are creating all the difficulties possible to prevent the use of Gallipoli,. British International Films, of which Mr Anthony Asquith is a- director, proposes to film the Gallipoli landing on a Maltese beach which is described as being exactly similar to Gallipoli. It is hoped to secure the River Clyde, the steamei famous at the landing, which at picsent is under the Spanish flag. The owners are asking £15,000 for its use. Another difficulty is that of Australian and New Zealand uniforms. The British Government, which is cooperating, cannot supply them, as they are verv different from those ot the present British regiments. The Gallipoli episode is part of a film version of Ernest Raymond’s novel. 1-ell England.” The Mediterranean Fleet is co-operating in the production.
