The Annual {Show was neld on November 7, 1929. The entries, which showed a .very satisfactory 7 increase on last year’s figures, were 2002 (1928, 1942). In connection with the Tucker Alemorial Shield, this now became the property of Air R. J- Low, he having grained the highest aggregate joints 111 the nine years. It was to be hoped that this valuable trophy would be replaced by a challenge shield or cup to be competed for annually. The annual horse parade was held on September 24, 13 entries being received. 'ln conjunction with the parade, demonstrations were given by Mr R. Peach (on the milking and beet qualities of the Shorthorn), Mr C. H. rioldsworth (on wool), and Air R. The challenge cup, presented by the Sheep Committee for most points, was won by Air C. H. AVatson, Methyen. The, competition jj’ould be held again this year on Alay 1. ■ Alovmg the addition of the report and balance-sheet, the president presented a long statement reviewing the activities of the year so far as the Association was concerned, and those of the farming - community generally. Air H. C, B. Withell (viee-prseident) seconded the adoption, and said the committee could be congratulated 011 the way the balance-sheet had turned out. Improvements on the grounds had been carried out, but there had been nothing in the nature of a wildcat scheme. In reply to Colonel J. Findlay, the secretary (Air AV. H. Amos)., said ■ the Gala donation of £2OO last year increased the balance at the end of last year. There was a credit of £49 when the 1929 year opened. This year there was, 411 expenditure of £BO on repairs and maintenance, and. over £4O on donnations that had not been made in previous years. The sum of £2O had been given to the Earthquake Fund. Air A. Brown (treasurer) said the financial position was very satisfactory 7 . There had been a good deal of expense so far as the grounds were concerned.

Colonel Findlay said that seemed satisfactory. He did not like to see the drop in membership. A total of 369 was not high enough ; it should he 500 in a district like this. With regard to a two-dav Show, he moved for this, as many natrons, in his opinion, did not see all of the Show in one day. It was a bit of a rush for one day when there were over 2000 entries. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Two new members were elected. Colonel Findlay moved that it bo a recommendation to the general committee that it seriously consider the holding of a two-day .Show this year. The expense would be only about £ls more. Mr A. Brown seconded the motion pro forma. There was a great deni to say against a two-day Show, he said. With one day the stock was taken away the same day, and without damage being done. The motion was carried without dis sent. There being just sufficient nominations to fill the vacancies, the following were declared elected: President, Mr H. C. B. Withell (Ealing); vicepresident, Mr H. C. Barton (Carew) ; committee, Messrs S. Andrews.(Winchmore), T. J. Bell (Wheatstone). H. Brown (Seaview), S. Crosson (Lagmlior), R. D. Cochrane (Elgin). H. C. In appreciation of his services in the last year, a bound copy of the catalogue of the 1929 Show was presented to Mr Bland. The presentation was made bv Mr H. Morris, who congratulated Mr Bland on his work for the Association. Mr Bland suitably replied. Before vacating the chair, Mr Bland thanked, the committee for the assistance given to him during his term of office. Amid applause, Mr Withell took his seat as president, and thanked members for his election. He paid a tribute in the past presidents. Mr Barton also thanked the committee for his election, and assured them that he would hack up the new president to the best of his ability.
