RESTORING GOLD STANDARD. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 11.5 a.m.) SHANGHAI, January 16. Following the Finance Minister (Mr So Ong's) announcement that henceforth Customs duty must be paid on the gold basis, the Nankin" Government issued a mandate supporting the statement and prohibiting speculation on the local gold bar exchange. The eventual adoption of a complete gold standard is believed to be certain.
