GREYMOUTH OFFENCES
LAND RETURNS NOT FILED. (Per Press Association.; GREYMOUTH, This Day. Daniel Casey, aged 42, was sentenced to three months’ hard labour for the theft of an overcoat from an hotel and one month for the theft of a bundle of socks from a shop. The terms are concurrent. Casey had five previous convictions for theft. Janies Harold Davey, aged 26, pleaded guilty to breaking two shop windows and stealing goods valued at £9 16s lOd, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Joseph Taylor, of Cobden, was fined £2, with costs, for having failed to file a return of land. Counsel for tho Commissioner of Taxes said that defendant had not filed returns for eight years.
