. METHVEN WHEAT AND STOCK. HEAVY TRAFFIC ON RAILWAY. Traffic on the branch railway line from Methven continues heavy. From Methven Station alone the figures for various classes for the year to June 6 are as follows: — Wheat 139,468 sacks Sheep 116,752 Cattle 1,084 Since June 1 to date, 7416 sacks of wheat have been forwarded and this represents smart work part of the haulage contractors and Railway Department, who are to be commended for handling this quantity so expeditiously. In addition to the quantities forwarded the local stores are almost full, representing a further 30,000 sacks.
