TECHNICAL SCHOOL.
THE BOARD OF MANAGERS. The Board of Managers of the Ashburton Technical School met yesterday afternoon. There were present. Messrs R Galbraith ( chairman), John Watson, \V. T. Li 11, W. G. Hillier, T. Hayes, and R. Houston. . Correspondence was received from the Education Department approving the grant of £6B for typewriter, desks, tables and chairs. The principal (Mr R. J. Thompson) stressed the need of another teacher on the staff. The matter was left m the hands of Mr Thompson. It was decided to send a letter to Mrs Stevenson expressing the hope that she would soon regain her health. In regard to outside children wearing the school colours, Mr Thompson pointed out how the school was judge*. by the behaviour of those who wore the colours. It was decided to refer the matter of the sale of colours to the Ashburton Drapers’ Association. The Principal’s report, as published in the “Guardian” yesterday, was adopted. -. The financial statement showed a credit of £290 6s.
