FURTHER ALLEGATIONS. MUTILATION OF NEGROES. (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) NEW YORK, April 12. A Pittsburg message states that in a deposition D. Stephenson: (former head of the Indiana Ku Klux Klan, now serving a life sentence for the murder of a girl at the rear of the court in a Klan trial) declared that Evans (Imperial Wizard) told him that Negroes had been, burned at the stake in Texas, that one had had his ears cut off and another had heen branded with the letters K.K.K. He also alleged that Evans authorised black mask and robes for use in killing and whipping expeditions.—Australian Press Association.
