LARGE SHARK CAUGHT
LANDED AT HAKATERE.
GOOD CATCHES OF TROUT. After more than a fortnight of Poor fishing, Hakatere anglers _ experienced good sport again last evening. A shark, seven feet seven inches m length, and correspondingly big in girth, was hooked by Mr A. 0. Pilbrow, who was using a throw line from the beach. The shark was land’ed with the assistance of two other fishermen. Several good catches of trout were made, including one fine fish of ten pounds weight. . This morning many kahawai which had been kept well out by the shark and the porpoises, came close into tlie beach, and several particularly large hauls were made.
