FARMERS BENEFIT
RESULT OF COOD RAINS.
NEW SOUTH WALES CONDITIONS. ‘ FLOOD IN HUNTER VALLEY. (Press Association —Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.35 a.m.) SYDNEY, This (Day. Though the floods have subsided at Newcastle and Cessnook, and people l are able to return to their homes, additional heavy rains on the central coast districts caused serious floods in the Hunter Valley, where the river overflowed its hanks, submerging farm lands and rich lucerne flats. The damage is very extensive. Despite the heavy falls in some centres, the rains will greatly benefit the primary industries. Most of the harvest had been taken off before the rain, while the present condition of the soil will enable wheat-growers to commence fallowing. The damage to standing erops is negligible.
