Mr Vernon J. Beacroft was in Ashburton to-day making arrangements for the appearance here on Monday of the Australian Silyer Band.

Messrs J. B. Nicoll and L. Grieve, of the Ashburton Cricket Club, will join the New Zealand Nomads' team for the remainder of their tour south.

Commissioner David C. Lamb, of the Salvation Army, with Mrs Lamb, will arrive in New Zealand by the Niagara on January 4, 1926, and will be in the Dominion for four weeks. Commissioner Lamb will address public bodies on the subject of immigration.

Colonel R. Henry, Chief Secretary for the Salvation Army in New Zealand, has been notified of his transferto a similar position in Eastern. Canada. His successor is not yet announced, but will hail from overseas. About 16 years ago, when Colonel Henry was staff captain at Palmerstoii North, he proceeded to Australia, and on the outbreak of war joined as chaplain and saw three years' service in the A.I.P. On his return he was promoted to the New Zealand Chief Secretaryship.
