MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING. SHOOT-OFF FOR SHIELD. The shoot-off for the Ashburton Miniature Rifle Challenge" Shield, between the Ashburton No. 2 and Sydenham No. 1 teams, will take place on the Ashburton range to-morrow evening, commencing at about 7 o'clock. These teams, of five men each, tied with scores of 237 in the competition last Wednesday. * If weather conditions permit, Sydenham will send an extra five men to compete in a friendly 10 a-side match with Ashburton to-morrow, in conjunction with the shoot-off. Following is the Ashburton team for the shoot-off:—A. J. Shepherd, E. R. Truman, L. Oakley, A. Oakley, and C. Simpson. The other five for the friendly match are: F. Clark, A. J. Millichamp, G. McKenzie, H. Cromie, and G. Cromie. THE LYNNFORD CLUB. At the weekly shoot of the Lynnford Rifle Club there was, as usual, a, good muster. Following are some r-f the scores:—W. Henderson 34. C.
