THE WEATHER.

A WINTRY SNAP. The first spell of really wintry weather -visited the County' at the weekend. Ten points of rain fell yesterday, accompanied by a cold southerly wind which kept the temperatures between 40 and 50 degrees. Heavy showers fell intermittently through the night, resulting in a registration of 32 points b* 9 a.m. to-day. The temperatures on Saturday were as low as from 38 to degrees. The barometer, which measured 29.52 inches at 9 a.m. yesterday. had risen to 29.93 at the same hour today. The conditions are still cold and' bleak, and much rain has fe.llen since 9 o'clock.

OFFICIAL FORECAST. The following forecast was issuer to-day: Indications are for southerly winds moderate to strong. The weather will orobably prove cold and showery. The will probably be very cold. Barometer rising.
