DUNDAS MACKENZIE CASE.
EVIDENCE BY DEFENDANT
AUCKLAND, March 12. The case in which application is made under section 22 of the Medical Practitioners’ Act, 1924, to have the name of Henry Dundas Mackenzie, medical practitioner, of Auckland, removed from the register, was continued today. Defendant-, in evidence, stated that in December, 1920, he went to America with his wife, who was said to be suffering from cancer. He was in America- three months, during which he studied at the Abrams Clinic. Mrs Mackenzie had six weeks’ treatment by the Abrams method, and was apparently cured. She_ had had one r f~ currence since, but it had yielded to treatment-. Witness returned to New Zealand in April, 1921, bringing back an Abrams diagnostic outfit and oscilloclast or treatment machine, and used it. in his work. While in America he studied the machine closely, and san some marvellous cures. Since his return he had used it- in conjunction with general methods, and had had some remarkable cures. In four years he had between 2500 and 3000 cases possibly over 3000. His practice continued to be good until the attack by the Bntish Medical Association.
