STATE MINE STRIKE
ABOUT 250 MEN IDLE.

GREYMOUTH, March 12. About 250 State miners were idle to-day. About 30 miners, half the number in the co-operative contracts, worked. It is understood that the Miners’ Council of the West Coast is behind the State Miners’ Union in their stood. The Engincdrivers' Union will meet cn Saturday, when their attitude will be considered.

MATTER NOT CONSIDERED.
WELLINGTON, March 12. Asked to-day if any course of action had been decided upon as a result of the miners declaring coal worked by co-operative parties at the State mines to be “black,” officials of the Seamen’s Union and Waterside Workers’ Union stated that the matter had not been considered.
