SPECTACULAR ROUND-UP.
EXCITEMENT IN NEW YORK. (Per Press Association—Copyright). NEW YORK, February 13. In an effort tb collect their guns from among, the city’s 15,000 taxi-, drivers, a secret order by tne vommissioner of Police was made effective early at night at the peak of the rush hour, creating the most spectacular round-up Jn the city’s history. It was especially annoying to early theatre-goers, many of whom wore forced to change cabs as their drivers were held for further inquiry. The round-up followed the indictment of John Leventine, a taxi-driver, for the murder of Dennis Kenny, a member of a prominent family, who was shot down in an argument over a fare. . Leventine now faces the electric chair.
