TRIAL OF THORN COMMENCED

The Sussez Assize Court was crowded at the opening trial of Norman Thorn, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of the ‘murder of a typiste, Elsie Cameron, at Crowborough. Sir Curtis Bennett, prosecuting, dealt with the intimacy between Thorn and Cameron, who in November last mistakenly thought she l was enciente and pressed Thorn to many her. The prosecution alleged that Thorn murdered Cameron because! she 6tood in the way of his marrying Miss Caldicott. Police tests indicated that Miss Cameron could not have liamred herself, as Thorne alleged.
