TRADES UNION LEVIES

CONSERVATIVES' AIMS

AMENDMENT OF LAW URGED,

PRESS WARNINGS DISREGARDED.

(Ppr Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.10 a.m.) LONDON', February 25.

Despite' warnings from a section of the Unionist Press, a meeting of the Central Council of the Conservative and Unionist Associations passed a resolution urging the Government to take immediate steps to amend the Trades Union Act, 1913, also supporting Mr F. A. MacQuisten's Political. Levy Bill. Working-men members opposed the latter motion and urged that the subject should not be reopened; but after discussion the motion was carried by a huge majority. One speaker was cheered when he declared: "I wish the Government would give us a lead on the question. If it does not, we will give it all the lead necessary."
