ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FOUND DEAD. (Per Press Association.) HAWERA, July 24. Joseph Doyle, a single man, agect thirty, a returned soldier, was found lying dead alongside his motor cycleand side-can on the main south road about two miles from Hawera. Marks, on the road indicated that the machine had skidded. Doyle suffered from a partially disabled leg, and it is thought that this may have contributed to his fatal fall. BULLET IN HEAD. TEKUITI, July 24. John Nicholls, single, aged 47, at storekeeper’s assistant of Aria, was arrested yesterday afternoon charged with attempted suicide. Nicholls, who is suffering from a bullet wound in the head, is now in the Hamilton i hospital.
GIRL DROWNED. GISBORNE, July 24. Cynthia Seymour, the 13-year-old daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Seymour, was missed from her home .this morning, and some hours later, her body was found floating in the Waimata River. DEATH FROM HEART DISEASE*. OAMARU, JMy 24', Daniel Goulding, a farmer at Georgetown, aged 31, single, a returned soldier, was found dead near liis home this afternoon. There were no marks of violence and heart disease is believed to be the cause of death.
I j DEATH FROM SCALDS;. j GORE, This Day. i George Whittingham, junior, single,, aged 20, fell into a vat of scalding; water at his father’s brewery at Gore on Tuesday morning. The unfortunate man was immersed to the hips, but was speedily rescued by his father. His injuries were not at first regarded as. serious, but he succumbed as the result of the severe burns to-day.
DUNEDIN FATALITIES. DUNEDIN, This Day. Susan Brace, married, living at North-East Valley, died suddenly while sitting at the fireside last night. While being conveyed by the ambulance from Balclutlia to 1 the Dunedin Hospital, John McLaren, aged 55 years, a widower, residing at Romahapa, expired. The deceased complained of abdominal pains.
