TINWALD STOCK SALE.

BIG YARDINQS TO-DAY.

MUTTON PRICES EASIER. In view of the early closing of the Fairfield Freezing Works, there was an exceptionally-large yarding at the Tinwald, stock sale to-day. This will probably be the last but one of the big sales. The attendance of the public was very large. The prices of ewe mutton up till noon showed a decline on the previous week's sale, though this was not altogether unexpected in view of. the big entry. Fully 1000 head of fat ewes and wethers was offered, while the fat lambs numbered approximately 1500, and stores about 4000. Sales of fats up till noon were:— Ewes.— Seven at 235, 17 at 17s 7d, 9 at 21s lOd, 9 at 24s 6d, 9 at 22s 3d, 18 at 23s lOd, 14 at 225, 7 at 21s 4d, 10 at 225, 39 at 23s 3d, 23 at 22s 6d,. 14 at 22s lOd, 14 at 20s, 7 at 21s Id, 16 at 18s lid, 13 at 21s 6d, 17 at 21s 2d, 15 at 24s 4d, 8 at 24s 9d, 12 at 24s 6d. ■ • Wethers.—Twelve at 34s Id. Cattle.—One fat cow at £5 10s, 1 at £3 10s, 4 forward steers £4 2s 6d, 4 do. at £4 17s 6d, cows in profit up to £9 5s for best quality, store cows £1 to £1 15s heifer in profit £6 12s 6d.
