1 HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. " THE GALLOPING? ACE." Jack Hoxie, Universal star, is skilled in the manner of removing objectionable persons from his pictures, but he breaks all previous records by his method of effacing villains from the screen in "The Galloping Ace," his newest Western feature, to be shown for the last time at His Majesty's Theatre to-night. Margaret Morris is in the cast. Robert N. Bradbury, who made "The Red Warning," directed.

"THE VIRGINIAN." " The Virginian" has been before the public so long that the story is familiar to all people. Kenneth Harlan, who. portrays the name role, seems to be the embodiment of the pooular idea of his part. Indeed, Harlan has done more than let his hair grow and discard his drawing-room manners m preparation for his work. Ho seems to have gone deeper and studied the part with the idea of giving a legitimate and at the same time individual interpretation of it. His scene of reading the farewell of his dead -al is Said to be superb acting. Pat O'Malley, as Steve, deserves special mention. Florence Vidoris, charming in the part of Mollv Russell Simpson, is splendid as "Trampas." "The Virginian' is a " Western," and one of the best pictures of that type. It opens at .a strong dramatic oace— a pace which it keeps to the end. Comedy of a hi"h sort has been inserted throughout. It is stated that the tone of the film never lapses into mediocrity.
