MAYFIELD SCHOOL.

SUCCESSES IN TARANAKI. The Mayfield School has not been content with sending exhibits to local shows, but lias tried its success ruither afield. . At the South Taranaki Winter Show, held on the 3rd, 4th, sth, 6th, and 7th of this month, Mayfield school exhibits secured the following results: —For mounted grasses, Ist prize; tor mounted weeds, Ist prize. I* or Roman lettering Hazel Sewell, in Standard VI. r received a 4th prize. In Standard V Robert Mcllraith received also a 4th place. It may be noted that these competed against Technical School pupils in this class. Apart from Juvenile classes, Robert Mcllraitli and Edna Mcllraith showed “Pen Painting” in the adult classes. They met with good success. Robert Mcllraith received a Ist prize for best table centre in pen painting. This boy is ini the sth standard. Edna Mcllraith received a second prize for best sample of that work. This girl is in the 4th standard. This is a very meritorious win for these young scholars competing in an adult class.
