PLUNKET SOCIETY.

METHVEN BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Methvea branch of die Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children was held on Thursday, Ju y 19, in the A. and P. Hall. Piesent. Mrs W. Dixon (president), > Mesdames McKee, Baxter, Haden, Sparrow, and Battson. Apologies were received from Mesdames Bremer, Reid, Pawson, and Stone. „ , . . The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed, and several accounts passed for payment. „ The Nurse’s report was read, winch showed a steady progress was being made of the society’s work in the district. „ , . A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Shearer Bros, for donation box and to Messrs S. Smith and Co.. Mr A. Baxter, and Mr W. C. Battson for fittings, fixing, and ease. , It was resolved to hold a children s fancy dress ball. It"was arranged that a general meeting be held at a later date to form a committee and to make all necessary arrangements, when all interested will he invited to attend.
