MINIATURE SHOOTING.

SHIELD AND OTHER COMPETITIONS.

The triangular match for the Bullock Shield was commenced by the Ashburton Miniature Rifle Club last week. Two more shoots have yet to be taken, and the following are the positions of the teams after the first round:—

No. 3 team —D. F. Keir 35, 0. H. Nicholls 35, G. McKenzie 34, J. H. Millar 32, P. Cookson 32. Total, 168. No, 1 team —G. He’fford jun. 34, W. Bickerstaff 34, IC. Simpson 33, T. Corbett 33, A. J. Millichamp 32. ' Total, 166. No. 2 team—J. Clayton 35, F. Clark 34, N. White 33, C. Storrier 32, R. H. Clark 32. Total, 163. In a two-shoot match for a trophy presented by Mr R. Holland, five tied. The final was won by E. Baker. The following were the scores off the rifle:— A. E. Clark 35, 30 (hep. 5); C. Simpson 34, 32 (4); E. C. Baker 33, 31 (6); G. McKenzie 34, 35 (2); P. Cookson 34, 31 (7). Keir, with a possible, and on June 27 1 1 . Clark won the button with 33. On July 4 G. McKenzie, with a possible, secured the button.
