THEFT
William David Ching (Ashburton), pleaded guilty to stealing 16 rabbit traps valued at £4 16s, the property of A. J. Rattray. The police stated that accused had sold 16 traps by auction, bui> the traps when recovered included only five of '• Rattray's. *±.v R. Kennedy, who appeared for accused, asked for' leniency, and said that Ching appeared to have a mania for rabbit traps. Accused * was fined £6, with 26s costs.
