DISTRICT ARRANGEMENTS.
The Ashburtoni retailers announce that tJioy will hulld their late night on Friday^ and close their businesses on Saturday and Monday for the peace celebrations. The- Thursday half-holi-day in each week will be observed as usual.
_ The arrangements for the celebrations are now definitely fixed. Saturday's proceedings will be opened by the grand procession, which will move oft' from South Street at 10.45 a.m., via Kn.st ami MtVFSlock Streets, to the-Do-main. Mr T. ~W'. Jiowe will deliver a patriotic address at the Domain, where luncheon will be provided free for soldiers, veterans, cadets and scouts. Hot water and milk wilt be supplied gratia to the general public;The afternoon wilt be devoted to a football match and sports. Following on a torchlight procession in the evening, the fireworks display will take pliaoo at Earing Square East. On Sunday evening, the combined choirs will render a programme of sacred music, and addresses given xoy the Revs. G. Miller and T. W. Vcalie.
Monday v;UI be set aside as cliildren'iS day. A procession and addresses will be the feature of the morning's programme and free pictures, and a concert- -have beexi arranged for the afternoon, '
