The monthly meeting of the Ashburton District AY.C.T.TJ. was held in the Victoria Hall on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs W. T. Lill presided over a, large attendance of members and friends.

The secretary- of tho Canterbury Provincial Union wrote drawing attention to the Convention to be held at Lyttelton in September. It was decided that the election of delegates be held over -until .next meeting! A letter was from Mrs Ferryman stating her willingness to visit Ashburton on July 17. After discussion it was. resolved that, owing to t]ie > restrictions in connection with the railway service and the nearness to thp Peace celebrations, further arrangements for same be postponed. The remainder of the business was held over until' nfexfc month, and the meeting took the form of a. social afternoon. The president introduced the Rev. R. Raine, who delivered a brief and instructive address. Musical items wero excellently rendered by Mesdnmes E. G. Craieiiead and W. H Higgins and Miss M. EV Trevurza'.. Mrfe Higgms and' Miss D. Higgins acted as ■accompanisfcos; . Votes of thanks to the speaker and performers were carried unanimously.'
